U.S. President Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind Attorney General Pam Bondi, defending her amid intensifying criticism over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

In a strongly worded social media post, Trump dismissed growing demands for Bondi’s resignation, calling on Americans to "let Pam Bondi do her job" and urging his base not to “waste time and energy” on the Epstein controversy.

Bondi has come under fire following the release of a memo from the Justice Department and FBI last week, which concluded there was no incriminating client list or evidence of blackmail involving high-profile individuals in Epstein’s circle.

The findings, based on a review of over 300 gigabytes of data, disappointed many conservatives who had anticipated bombshell revelations.

Among Bondi’s most vocal critics are far-right figure Laura Loomer and tech billionaire Elon Musk, both of whom have backed Trump in past campaigns. Loomer and others accuse Bondi of backtracking on earlier promises to expose details from Epstein’s network, including names and flight logs.

Bondi had previously told Fox News that Epstein’s client list was “on my desk,” though she later clarified she was referring more broadly to files tied to the case.

The DOJ memo reaffirmed that Epstein died by suicide while in federal custody in 2019 an explanation that has long been met with skepticism within Trump's political circles.

Tensions surrounding the case have also triggered internal conflict. CBS News reports that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino skipped work on Friday following a heated exchange with Bondi at the White House.

Bongino, alongside FBI Director Kash Patel, had echoed claims about possible hidden evidence in recent months.

The dispute has underscored a growing rift between senior Justice Department officials and the FBI over how the Epstein investigation is being managed.

The controversy reignited last month when Elon Musk, in a now-deleted post on X, claimed without proof that Trump appears in unreleased Epstein files an allegation the White House swiftly denied.

Frustration over the continued focus on the case has also been evident from the president. During a White House exchange last week, Trump curtly responded to a reporter's question with: “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?”

Despite public discontent from parts of his base, Trump appears committed to shielding Bondi, emphasizing her loyalty and urging critics to shift their focus to more pressing national matters.
