KANU Chairman Gideon Moi says he has no intentions of working with the current Ruto administration.

Moi dismissed speculation about seeking a political deal, emphasizing that his primary focus is engaging with the people of Baringo County.

“The only handshake I need is with the people of Baringo. I will return to you, and you will guide me,” Moi declared.

The former Baringo Senator made these remarks at a funeral on Saturday in Aiyebo, Baringo North.

Gideon assured his supporters that he is still in the process of holding key consultations. He emphasized that once these discussions are concluded, he will seek the people’s guidance before making any decisions.

“When you remain connected to the people, everything naturally falls into place,” he stated.

His statement comes at a time when the political landscape is shifting, with key leaders strategizing for the 2027 elections.

Recently, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga entered into a cooperation agreement with President William Ruto to work together until the next election.

The Ruto-Raila pact primarily seeks to implement the NADCO report, which had previously been shelved despite its far-reaching recommendations.

It also emphasizes the need to promote inclusivity, a principle enshrined in Article 27 of the Constitution, which guarantees equality and freedom from discrimination.
