'No thank you', Raila turns down calls to oppose government

Orange Democratic Movement chief Raila Odinga has rejected an invitation from a section of politicians to join them in the opposition, reaffirming his commitment to supporting the government.
Odinga questioned the motives of those urging him to shift allegiance, reminding them that in the past, they had branded him a "hyena."
“We understand the path we have chosen and where we are headed,” Raila said.
The former Prime Minister who has for a long time played opposition politics, maintained that the nation’s interests should come before personal or political ambitions.
“Kenya is bigger than any individual, and we have a duty to protect it,” he remarked.
He expressed confidence that solutions to Kenya's problems will come over time while also acknowledging existing challenges.
“Getting to our desired destination requires sacrifice. We may not be where we envisioned, but the country must move forward, which is why unity is crucial,” he concluded.
Some leaders, led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, have been urging Raila to join their side.
This follows a recent pact between Ruto and Raila to collaborate in addressing the country's challenges.
