Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund admits that he has not been on top of his game but insists that under new manager Ruben Amorim, he is confident of improved numbers

Hojlund scored for the first time in 2025 during the much-needed 3-0 win over Leicester City in the English Premier League Sunday. Hojlund, has struggled for form since his much-publicised move from Atalanta in the summer of 2023.

Hojlund had not scored in 21 matches. He has come under fire from fans and pundits alike and with frustration rising, head coach Amorim has been forced to turn to 17 year old Chido Obi, who has been featuring for the club's under 18 side.

The 22-year-old Denmark striker understands that he is constantly under the spotlight.

"I'm obviously very happy to get my goal and it gives me a lot of confidence," he said.

"I think it comes down to my performances as well. I think I've not been on top of my game as I wanted to, and we're still adapting to a new system and some new positions.

"But I think I've been growing into it lately and starting to look a bit better, he told Supersport.

Hojlund also explained that Amorim, who joined United in November 2024 has demanded a lot from him and is pushing hard to see him improve his game.

"(Amorim) wants me to stretch the pitch, I think that's quite obvious and get me into the channels and keep keeping the center-backs occupied," he explained.

"That's what I'm trying to do. I think I've got a good amount of speed and that's what I'm here for."

Hojlund is away on international duty this week with Denmark. They face Portugal in a two-legged UEFA Nations League quarterfinal Thursday and Sunday this week.
