Arsenal in talks to sign Slovenia striker Sesko, hope to extend Gabriel contract

Reports in Germany have stated that Sesko, 21, is on the verge of making a move following interest from Europe's top clubs.
North London club Arsenal are in talks to sign Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko ahead of the upcoming season, reports have stated.
Reports in Germany have stated that Sesko, 21, is on the verge of making a move following interest from Europe's top clubs.
His representatives have entered talks with interested parties, as the forward is ready to leave Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
Arsenal are known to be serious admirers of the lanky forward who has been banging in the goals for a few years now.
Talks are at an initial stage, with the Gunners keen to strengthen in attack after missing out on silverware last season. They previously had offers for Sesko, 21, rejected in May last year and during the most recent January transfer window.
However, he will not come cheaply, with The Telegraph having reported that Mikel Arteta's side must pay Leipzig's asking price of £92.5million (approx. Sh16 billion) to secure the services of the Slovenia international.
The north Londoners previously looked to bolster their forward options in January as they put in offers for Sesko and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, both of which were rejected.
"Understand Arsenal have started moving initial concrete talks for Benjamin Šeško deal, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said on his X page.
"He’s always been high on the recruitment team, management, Mikel Arteta list with attempts to get deal done rejected by Leipzig in May 2024 and January. Now Šeško will leave. Arsenal on it," he reported.
Arteta was left short in the final third of the pitch for the second half of the season when Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both suffered serious injuries in January and February, respectively, meaning they could only manage yet another second-place finish in the English Premier League behind Liverpool.
Meanwhile, central defender Gabriel is edging closer to a new deal that keeps him in North London till 2030.
According to reports, Gabriel has been seriously chased by Saudi Arabian clubs but according to Romano, he is set to commit to the North Londoners for another five years.
