Bajaber injured as Harambee Stars squad departs for Morocco to face Chad
Harambee Stars midfielder Mohamed Bajaber.

The National team Harambee Stars have named a 23-man squad to face Chad in a friendly match in Morocco this week. The squad travelled Tuesday evening for the North African country.

The important news is that Kenya Police midfielder Mohamed Bajaber has been ruled out of the squad due to injury.

His absence will be felt in midfield, especially with Victor Wanyama also dropping out of the squad due to personal engagements.

FKF confirmed that Bajaber suffered a blow during Harambee Stars' final training session before departing, an injury that will rule him out of the two friendlies.

Kenya is set to face Chad in back-to-back friendlies on Saturday, 7 June, and Tuesday, 10 June, in Marrakesh, Morocco.

"Kenya Police FC midfielder Mohammed Bajaber has been ruled out of Harambee Stars’ upcoming friendlies against Chad after sustaining a right thigh injury during training on Tuesday," the statement read.

There will be no replacement for Bajaber in the squad which is heavy on locally based players who are preparing for Kenya's assignment in August at the African Nations Championships CHAN to be held from August 2, 2025.

Moses Shumah and Emmanuel Osoro will lead the line for the Stars against their opponents as they size up their options ahead of CHAN.
