Kibera Soccer and Vihiga Queens face off in Women's FKF Cup final in Nakuru

This afternoon promises to be a great platform for women's football as the FKF Women’s Cup final between Kibera Soccer FC and Vihiga Queens FC takes place this Saturday afternoon at the Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.
The final, the second biggest in Kenya in terms of status behind the FKF Women's Premier League, promises to showcase the best of women’s football in Kenya, as the two sides battle for supremacy in the long-standing tournament.
First things first, fans of both sides will be relieved that the final is taking place.
It was initially scheduled for Saturday, June 14, but had to be postponed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to allow the national women’s team, Harambee Starlets, to participate in the 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship, which ended Sunday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Kibera saw off FKF Women's Premier League winners Kenya Police Bullets 2-0 in the semis while Vihiga beat Bungoma Queens 2-1 in their last-four clash.
Ulinzi Starlets who were the defending champions, were knocked out in the quarterfinals and they will be forced to watch from the stands as a new winner is confirmed.
Kerubo Momanyi, FKF National Executive Committee Women’s Representative, is hoping for an eventful final.
"This final is a celebration of the strides we’ve made in women’s football. We encourage fans to come out in large numbers to support these incredible athletes as they inspire the next generation," she said ahead of the final.
Kick off will be at 2 PM Kenyan time.
