In Summary

The Kenya Premier League champions, fresh from a disappointing group stage exit at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania, will hope to redeem themselves Sunday when they take on the unpredictable Nairobi United, who will be no pushovers.

With the CAF Champions League looming, Kenya Police FC will first and foremost face the tricky test presented by Nairobi United when they battle in the season curtain raiser, the Football Kenya Federation Super Cup this Sunday at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi's South C.

The Kenya Premier League champions, fresh from a disappointing group stage exit at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania, will hope to redeem themselves Sunday when they take on the unpredictable Nairobi United, who will be no pushovers.

A week later, Police will begin their maiden CAF Champions League campaign at the Nyayo National Stadium where they take on Somalia's Mogadishu City FC on 20 September.

In the meantime, they will have to think about the challenge posed by the newbies Nairobi United who are led by Nicholas Muyoti. United beat Gor Mahia 2-1 in the Football Kenya Federation Mozzart Bet Cup Final on 29 June, at the Ulinzi Stadium.

The match will kick off at 3 pm. The 2025/26 Kenya Premier League will kick off on the weekend of September 20,2025 with Police looking to retain a crown they won for the first time last season after edging Gor Mahia and Tusker FC.

Police FC bowed out of the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2025 despite securing a 2-0 victory over Ethiopian Coffee in their final Group A match on Monday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Goals from Alvin Mang’eni and David Okoth gave the Law Enforcers a deserved win, lifting them to second place in the group.

The result was not enough to secure passage to the semi-finals as Tanzania’s KMC. KMC held defending champions APR of Rwanda to a 1-1 draw in Group B, a result that left both sides on seven points. APR advanced as group winners on goal difference, while KMC claimed the coveted runners-up ticket.

Earlier, they picked up a much needed 4-0 win over Djibouti’s Garde Cotes. However, a costly 2-1 defeat to Singida Black Stars in their second match ultimately proved decisive in their failure to progress.

Sunday will present an opportunity to move on from the Kagame Cup and head coach Etienne Ndayiragije, speaking after the Kagame exit, stated his side had collected enough experience to assist them in the new season.

"Kagame Cup has been a good experience for the team. We will apply what we learnt going forward as the season begins, he said.

When all is said and done, an interesting season awaits for Police.
