Rwanda is set to become the focal point of security discussions across Africa, with the hosting of the inaugural International Security Conference on Africa (ISCA) in Kigali from May 19 to 20, 2025.

This event marks a significant step toward fostering deeper security collaboration and dialogue on the continent, as well as addressing some of Africa’s most urgent security concerns.

The conference will bring together key policymakers, security experts, civil society actors, and researchers, all gathering in Kigali to explore sustainable and effective solutions to Africa’s pressing security challenges.

The event is aimed at tackling issues such as terrorism, cyber threats, political instability, and transnational crimes.

ISCA will be officially launched during the conference as a platform for strategic security dialogue.

It will encourage enhanced cooperation and the development of innovative solutions tailored specifically for Africa’s security landscape.

"The event will mark the official launch of ISCA as a platform for strategic security dialogue, enhanced collaboration, and the development of innovative, Africa-focused solutions to contemporary security," stated ISCA on its website.

Participants will have access to a range of activities, including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and specialized workshops, all designed to facilitate regional partnerships and the sharing of best practices in security management.

Additionally, an exhibition showcasing the latest innovations in defense and security technology will form part of the event's comprehensive program.

Founded and headquartered in Kigali, ISCA is a non-governmental organization committed to amplifying Africa’s role in global security discussions.

The organization is dedicated to promoting homegrown solutions for conflict and security issues on the continent. ISCA’s mission is to empower professionals in security-related fields and to advocate for African-led approaches to conflict resolution.

Through its initiatives, ISCA seeks to provide a platform where African voices are heard in global security debates.

The conference will not only serve as a venue for sharing expertise but also as a testament to Rwanda’s growing reputation as a diplomatic hub for international dialogue.

This is in line with the country’s ongoing commitment to shaping a secure and prosperous Africa.
