Tech mogul Elon Musk has taken down a controversial post in which he accused U.S. President Donald Trump of having ties to the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The claim surfaced amid a heated online spat between the two high-profile figures earlier this week.

Musk, who recently stepped down from his advisory position at the White House, made the explosive statement on Thursday.

He suggested that Trump appears in classified government records related to Epstein’s past associates. Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has confirmed it is examining a vast trove of documents, videos, and investigative material.

Supporters of Trump's "MAGA" movement claim the findings will expose high-profile individuals allegedly involved in Epstein’s criminal network.

President Trump was mentioned in a cache of depositions and testimonies connected to Jeffrey Epstein, which were made public by a New York judge in early 2024.

However, he has not faced any allegations of misconduct in relation to the case.

By Saturday morning, both tweets had seemingly been taken down.

Within the more conspiratorial circles of Trump’s "Make America Great Again" movement, there's a common belief that individuals linked to Jeffrey Epstein were shielded from accountability by government officials and powerful allies.

These backers often accuse prominent Democrats and Hollywood figures of being complicit though Trump himself is rarely among those blamed.

To date, no official evidence has surfaced indicating the president is featured in any of the still-unreleased content tied to the case.

Trump did know Epstein and was known to socialize with him, but he has denied ever visiting Little Saint James, the secluded island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Epstein allegedly exploited underage girls.

In a profile from the early 2000s, Trump referred to Epstein as “a terrific guy.”

"He’s a lot of fun to be around," Trump was quoted as saying.

"People even say he enjoys beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them tend to be on the younger side."

Just a week ago, Trump praised Elon Musk as he stepped away from his role leading the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), applauding his efforts to trim waste.

However, their alliance soured rapidly. Within days, Musk slammed a proposed spending bill central to Trump’s potential second-term agenda as an “abomination.”

Trump fired back with a tirade from the Oval Office, sparking a dramatic fallout that quickly captured Washington’s attention and set social media ablaze, marking a fiery public split between the world’s most powerful man and its wealthiest.

As tensions escalated, raising genuine political and economic concerns, both appeared to soften their stance by Friday. Trump, speaking to reporters, said, "I just wish him well," while Musk posted a brief "Likewise" on X.

However, the White House later dismissed claims that any talks between the two were planned.
