The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes for the September 2025 intake.
This move aims to widen access to skills training across the country by providing a fresh opportunity for eligible candidates to join diploma, craft certificate, and artisan certificate courses.
The application window will run from August 8 to August 22, 2025, allowing two weeks for applicants to submit their applications. In a bid to encourage more enrolments, the application fee has been lowered from Sh1,500 to Sh500.

This announcement aligns with government efforts to strengthen technical training and ensure skills development matches industry needs. KUCCPS, a state corporation established under the Universities Act, is responsible for coordinating placements of government-sponsored students to universities, colleges, and TVET institutions.
The agency also manages career guidance, shares information on course offerings, and promotes fair access to higher education.
Through this process, KUCCPS allocates students to institutions based on merit, preferences, and available capacity. Successful applicants will begin their practical training at accredited institutions starting this September.
