The next day, Wednesday, at around 8 am, the man chased her away.

Police in Bomet County are searching for six people suspected of involvement in the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on Tuesday night.

Five of the suspects took turns assaulting the girl before leaving her at a shopping center later that night, where she was subsequently approached by another man.

The man continued to assault her throughout the night and sent her away the next morning around 8 am, said police.

On Tuesday around 2 pm, a Form Two student was sent to the shop but failed to return, prompting her mother to file a report with the police.

According to the girl, she was approached by two men on a motorcycle at Kyogong shopping centre, who took her to Dubai in Longisa, where three additional men joined them.

The five men then took her to a mud-walled house where they defiled her in turns. After that, the two men who had initially picked her took her back to Kyogong centre at around 8pm.

"She feared going home and started walking towards Bomet town, and on reaching Kipchimatt supermarket, she met another man who lured her to his home where he also defiled her and spent the whole night with her," police said.

The next day, Wednesday, at around 8 am, the man chased her away.

She then walked to Litein town, where she contacted her mother and recounted the ordeal.

The victim was later taken to Longisa Referral Hospital for medical attention.
