Boy stabs to death mother of girl he allegedly impregnated in Kayole

A tragic incident unfolded in Nairobi’s Kayole area on May 4, 2025, during a family meeting convened to address a teenage pregnancy.
A 17-year-old boy, who had allegedly impregnated a 19-year-old woman, turned violent during the discussion, fatally stabbing the woman’s mother and seriously injuring her aunt.
According to police reports, the young man had been invited to the meeting to resolve issues surrounding the pregnancy.
However, tensions quickly escalated, leading to a violent confrontation.
Armed with a knife, the suspect stabbed the 19-year-old’s mother from behind, striking her in the right side of the torso.
She succumbed to her injuries due to heavy bleeding.
Her sister, who also attended the meeting, sustained deep cuts on both hands and injuries to her mouth. She was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and remains hospitalized.
The teenage suspect was apprehended at the scene.
Investigators recovered the weapon used in the attack, along with a bottle containing a substance believed to be turpentine.
Authorities suspect he had intended to take his own life following the assault, suggesting premeditation.
The matter is under investigation as police prepare to take further action.
The body was taken to the mortuary as authorities prepare for an autopsy and further inquiries into the case.
Meanwhile, tragedy struck in Laini Moja Village, Geta area of Trans Nzoia County, where a 17-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his 32-year-old brother to death following a dispute over Sh100.
The fatal incident occurred on Saturday, May 3.
According to police, the boys' mother had left them the money to buy lunch. However, when the cash went missing, tensions flared between the siblings.
Amid the heated exchange, the younger brother reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the elder one, fatally wounding him.
The suspect was arrested shortly after and is set to face charges in court.
The deceased’s body was taken to the Kitale County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.
Murder cases have been increasing despite ongoing efforts to curb the trend, with police reporting as many as eight incidents each day.
