Kenya to experience continued rains this week, Weatherman warns

In Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi, mornings will start with cloudy skies that will clear into sunny intervals.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned that rains will continue in many parts of the country between Tuesday, June 10, and Saturday, June 14.
In a weather forecast released on Monday, June 9, the department said areas in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and the Coast are all expected to receive rainfall during the week.
In Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi, mornings will start with cloudy skies that will clear into sunny intervals.
These areas will remain sunny on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons, while showers are likely on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons.
Nights will be largely partly cloudy, although some areas may receive showers on Wednesday night. Maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius, with minimums dropping to 6 degrees Celsius.
Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, and the inland parts of Tana River County will also experience cloudy mornings followed by sunny afternoons and cloudy nights.
Temperatures in these counties will range between 12 and 32 degrees Celsius.
Along the Coast, residents in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and Tana River counties should prepare for showers throughout most mornings, afternoons, and nights.
However, sunny intervals are expected on Friday morning and Saturday afternoon. Maximum temperatures are expected to hit 32 degrees Celsius, with minimums of 21 degrees Celsius.
Counties in the Lake Victoria Basin and parts of the Rift Valley, including Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot, will experience sunny mornings.
These will be followed by afternoon showers with thunderstorms, while nights will remain partly cloudy.
Temperatures are expected to range between 8 and 29 degrees Celsius.
In the northern counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, the weather will be dry with sunny days and partly cloudy nights.
The maximum temperature will be 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be 17 degrees Celsius.
Turkana and Samburu will also have sunny conditions during the day and partly cloudy skies at night.
Temperatures in these counties are expected to reach a high of 36 degrees Celsius and drop to as low as 8 degrees Celsius at night.
