President William Ruto on Saturday attended the 10th edition of the Annual Dairy Farmers Field Day in Meru County, an event dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture and improving livelihoods in rural communities.

Organized by Mount Kenya Milk and held at the ASK Grounds, the field day brought together farmers from across the region under the theme “Elevating Sustainable Livelihoods Through Dairy Farming.”

The forum offered practical knowledge, hands-on training, and opportunities for farmers to network and learn from agricultural experts.

This year’s event aimed to empower dairy farmers with tools to boost productivity and profitability, reinforcing the sector's role in local development.

The occasion took place as political activity in Meru ramps up, with the opposition also holding rallies in the area to strengthen grassroots support.

In a message of unity and restraint, former Governor Kawira Mwangaza called for political tolerance during this period of heightened activity.

“I encourage the people of Meru to maintain peace and demonstrate political maturity. Let’s give all leaders the space to articulate their ideas without interference or division,” she urged.

Against this backdrop, the field day served not only as an agricultural empowerment initiative but also as a reminder of the region’s shared goals prosperity, collaboration, and a focus on the future beyond politics.
