Ruto calls on IEBC Panel to Expedite Recruitment Process

President William Ruto has directed the panel tasked with recruiting nominees for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson and Commissioners to expedite the process.

Speaking on Tuesday afternoon during the burial of Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi, the Head of State called on the panel to speed up the process to allow Malava residents to vote for their new representative.

While calling for the immediate reconstitution of the electoral commission, Ruto pledged his support for Malava residents, maintaining that his administration would ensure seamless service delivery despite the death of their legislator.

MP Injendi died on February 17 after weeks of being hospitalised at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi. He died while serving his third term as a legislator in the National Assembly.
