Kenya's national team, Harambee Stars, face Chad in an international friendly match this evening in Morocco.

The match will kick off at 6 pm Kenyan time and will be played at the Stade' De Marrakech in Morocco.

The team features exclusively African-based players in going with the rules of the upcoming African Nations Championships CHAN.

Harambee Stars will use the match as a preparation for the 8th CHAN tournament, which will be held jointly by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from 2nd to 30th August this year.

It will be the first meeting between Kenya, who are placed 111 in the FIFA rankings and Chad, who are ranked 177.

The two sides will meet again on Tuesday at the same venue as the teams gear up for continental competitions.

Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy is happy to have his side out of the country and preparing for upcoming competitions.

"We have a task at hand to prepare for CHAN which we are also hosting. During this camp and the two matches, we will learn alot about each other and it's important as we build a team for the competition," he said prior to departure for Morocco.

CHAN kicks off August 2, 2025.

These twin matches will be key for McCarthy and his coaching team as they aim to select a squad good enough to challenge for CHAN on home soil and with expectations understandably at the highest.
