Kenya Volleyball Federation names 29 Women to prepare for World Championships

The World Championship matches will be hosted across four Thai cities: Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.

The Kenya Volleyball Federation has confirmed a list of 29 players who will take to camp to prepare for the Volleyball World, World Championships, scheduled to take place from 22nd August to 7th September 2025 in Thailand.

Kenya's women, popularly referred to as the Malkia Strikers are placed in Group G where they will take on Germany, Poland and Vietnam.

The World Championship matches will be hosted across four Thai cities: Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.

Other African representatives include Cameroon, who will compete in Pool “H” with Ukraine, Serbia, and Japan. Theirs will be a tough assignment indeed, especially since Serbia are the current World Champions.

Egypt will feature in Pool “A” alongside Thailand, the Netherlands, and Sweden to complete the list of African qualifiers to the Championships.

The team is coached by Geoffrey Omondi who also doubles up as Kenya Pipeline head coach. He will be assisted by Kenya Commercial Bank’s (KCB) David Muthui and team trainer Esther Chepkosgei.
