Volleyball: Malkia Strikers name Sande new Captain ahead of World Championships

Left attacker Meldina Sande will captain Kenya women’s volleyball team, Malkia Strikers ahead of the forthcoming FIVB World Championship set for August 22 to September 7 in Thailand.
Sande who locally played for former Kenya Volleyball Federation National League champions Kenya Prisons, but has been in Rwanda playing professionally for Rwanda Police, will be assisted by National League champions Kenya Pipeline middle blocker Gladys Ekaru.
Ekaru is also the captain of the Pipeline Oilers.

The Malkia Strikers, are getting ready for the 2025 World Championship in Thailand with a new look. The team, under new coach Geoffrey Omondi, is bringing in many young, talented players who did well in the local league. They’re preparing to face tough teams from around the world and are aiming to make a big impact, building on their success in African volleyball.
