Kenya will once again have to wait to win the Rugby Africa Men's Sevens title after falling short in the semifinals of the current championships that are taking place in Mauritius, Sunday.

The Morans lost 19-14 to Madagascar at the semi final stage in the 2025 edition of the Rugby Africa Sevens tournament which is being hosted at the Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mauritius in a closely fought match littered with errors.

In the process, Madagascar registered a third consecutive win over the Morans to book a place in the Africa Men’s 7s final against South Africa A and secure a spot in the HSBC SVNS Three next season.

The evenly contested match saw Kenya lead 5-0 at halftime but Madagascar hit back with a well played second half, scoring three tries to claim victory despite being down to six men for a good portion of the match.

In the other semi-final, South Africa A overcame a battling Zimbabwe side 19-12 in a closely contested match to earn their place in the championship contest.

On day one, Kenya beat the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Uganda to qualify top of group A and guarantee a place in the last eight. They then beat Nigeria 43012 in their quarterfinal. They play Zimbabwe this afternoon to determine who will finish third and fourth.
