The Stars are in Morocco where they take on West African outfit Chad in twin friendly matches to be played Saturday and Tuesday.

With the African Nations Championships CHAN continental competition coming up in August with Kenya as co-hosts, the friendlies will help head coach Benni McCarthy and his team of assistants in their quest to find a squad capable of making the country proud.

Kimani is happy with what he has seen so far.

"The mood in camp is great, and every player selected is giving their best. It’s a good kind of headache for us as coaches because everyone wants to prove themselves worthy of starting," he was quoted by Citizen Digital.

Kimani underlined that the national team remains open to all deserving players, describing it as a "revolving door" where consistent performances at the club level can earn a call-up.

He urged players who have missed out on selection at the moment to keep at it. Their time will come.

"There’s always room for more players to come on board. The ones currently in camp have a golden opportunity to show the coach what they’ve got. Anyone doing well out there will definitely catch the coach’s eye," he added.

The kick-off tomorrow will be at 6 pm Kenyan time from the Marrakech Stadium in Morocco.
