The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has extradited Lebanese national Antoine Kassis to the United States.

Kassis, wanted for narcoterrorism and money laundering, was arrested earlier this year in Kiambu County.

He was taken into custody after arriving on a Qatar Airways flight and was held at Gigiri Police Station pending court proceedings.

The extradition followed a Milimani Magistrate’s Court order issued on April 16, 2025, and a surrender warrant from the Director of Public Prosecutions dated May 2, 2025.

US Drug Enforcement Administration agents, accompanied by a senior prosecutor from Kenya’s Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, took custody of Kassis.

The DCI’s Anti-Narcotics Unit said it will continue working with local and international partners to fight drug trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, and other crimes.

"We are committed to making Kenya unattractive to criminals involved in illicit drugs and related offenses," the DCI said.
