Kindiki dismissed what he described as "hollow slogans" and "bitter political agendas" being advanced by opponents, emphasizing that voters will focus on leaders who have delivered real progress across the country.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stated that development, not political slogans, will be the key issue in the 2027 General Election.

Kindiki dismissed what he described as "hollow slogans" and "bitter political agendas" being advanced by opponents, emphasizing that voters will focus on leaders who have delivered real progress across the country.

"In the next election, what will truly matter is a leader’s proven record in advancing development across all 47 counties," he said.

He cautioned that rhetoric alone will no longer influence voters, adding, "Kenyans will not be swayed by empty catchphrases or divisive plots aimed at determining who stays in power."

His comments appeared to be directed at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who has been openly critical of President William Ruto’s administration.

Gachagua has repeatedly accused the Kenya Kwanza government of economic mismanagement and overtaxing citizens, insisting it does not deserve a second term.

Teaming up with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K head Eugene Wamalwa, Gachagua has pledged to rally the opposition and oust Ruto in the 2027 polls through a unified political front.

While addressing a rally in Malili, Makueni County, on Friday, June 6, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua announced: "We are here with Kalonzo to kick off the journey to make Ruto a one-term president. We stand united in this mission. Our commitment is to drive meaningful change an unstoppable push for a leadership that genuinely prioritises the needs of the people."

The opposition has embarked on a series of countrywide tours to promote their alliance and rally support against the Kenya Kwanza government.

Despite their efforts, President William Ruto has remained resolute, maintaining that he is unfazed by the opposition’s campaign and confident of winning a second term in office.

"They said I’d never become President. They claimed I wouldn’t even finish a single term yet here I am," President Ruto said recently.

"Now they’re saying I won’t secure a second term. Just wait until I’m re-elected. What excuse will they come up with then? Wao sio Mungu!"
