Grade 5 pupil in Nyandarua found beheaded, body dumped in dam

The child had gone missing the previous day after her mother sent her to purchase household items from a nearby shop, residents said.
The beheaded body of a Grade 5 girl from Gwa Chobe village in Kinangop, Nyandarua County, was discovered on Sunday in a local dam.
The child had gone missing the previous day after her mother sent her to purchase household items from a nearby shop, residents said.
When she failed to return home for several hours, her family and neighbors launched a search that continued throughout the night.
Her body was found on Sunday afternoon.
"We searched from one homestead to another but couldn’t locate her until we discovered her beheaded body dumped in a dam. What kind of person would do such a thing?” local resident Beth Muthoni told Citizen Digital.
Residents are urging investigative authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.
"We shouldn’t have to fear sending our children to the shops only for them to be killed. The government must step in and put an end to this," said Susan Njeri, another local resident.
The girl’s body was recovered from the dam and taken to the Engineer Sub-County Hospital morgue.
