Kindiki expressed disapproval of the newly appointed CS's demand for the government to focus on tarmacking roads in the region.

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has sharply criticized Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, accusing him of "inciting the public" over current government development efforts.

During an event attended by more than 5,000 elders from Embu, which was jointly organized by both leaders, Kindiki expressed disapproval of the newly appointed CS's demand for the government to focus on tarmacking roads in the region.

Ruku had urged the Deputy President to focus on enhancing infrastructure in Siakago, representing the concerns of the elders.

This appeal seemed to irritate the DP.

"You are now part of the Cabinet," Kindiki told Ruku.

"You should not be inciting the public with complaints. Instead, you should be providing solutions within the Cabinet, which is the top decision-making organ of government."

Kindiki reminded Ruku that, as a Cabinet Secretary, he holds a significant position and should channel any concerns about development through the proper governmental channels, rather than making public statements that could be interpreted as dissent.

"The President entrusted you with that flag. It’s not just a piece of cloth; respect it," the Deputy President emphasized, urging his colleague to maintain professionalism and responsibility in public discussions.

Earlier, the Deputy President visited Meru County, where he attended a church service and reiterated the government's commitment to development.

He spoke about ongoing initiatives, including the construction of over 400 markets across the country, with 14 of them in Meru.

Kindiki later traveled to Kiambu County, where he participated in an empowerment program for boda boda riders and informal traders (mama mboga) at a sacco in Ndumberi.

He encouraged the local traders to support the Kenya Kwanza administration, expressing confidence that the government would deliver on its development promises.
