Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi has been discovered abandoned and injured in a coffee plantation in Kiambu County after reportedly being abducted by unknown individuals.

Koimburi was allegedly seized outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu, on Sunday. His wife, Ann Koimburi, was reportedly injured during the abduction attempt.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, as investigations into the incident continue.

Video footage from the scene shows the MP being driven away in a silver Subaru Forester with civilian number plates.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has distanced itself from the incident, denying any involvement in the abduction.

However, the agency confirmed that Koimburi has been under investigation since Friday over allegations of land fraud and misappropriation of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

His wife, Ann Koimburi, voiced her frustration with the handling of the case, recalling previous instances where authorities confiscated her husband’s phone and vehicle during investigations but offered no information on his whereabouts.
