President William Ruto has reiterated his commitment to supporting Kenyans through what he describes as "empowerment programmes" at the ward level.

During a church service in Nairobi, the President unveiled a new initiative pledging that 70 women and youth groups in each ward will receive financial support to start businesses.

"We are launching a project that will provide Sh50,000 to 70 women and youth groups in every ward to help them establish their own businesses," the President stated, highlighting that the programme aims to benefit 100,000 young people across the country.

President William Ruto stated that the initiative aligns with his Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which he introduced to voters in his pre-election manifesto.

"We are focused on uplifting those at the grassroots. Those criticizing me are the ones at the top; they should allow me the chance to elevate those at the bottom," he explained.

The President also dismissed unnamed detractors, affirming that their criticism will not deter him from fulfilling his mandate.

"I’m not bothered by the noise. My focus remains clear. God entrusted me with the leadership of Kenya, and I have a mission to transform this nation, which I am determined to accomplish. Let those who criticize continue; it won’t stop me," he said.

Ruto further accused past administrations of failing to deliver on promises such as Universal Health Coverage and affordable housing, insisting that he is the leader to achieve these goals.

"I am committed, determined, and focused on transforming Kenya. No intimidation or name-calling will divert me. I have a task to complete, and there is enough time to do so," he told congregants during a Sunday church service.
