Jane Njeri Muigai, 28, was apprehended at a checkpoint along the Moyale-Nairobi highway after officers stopped a Nairobi-bound bus for a routine inspection.
In a statement issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect's unusual behaviour caught the attention of officers, leading female personnel to conduct a more detailed body search in private.
During the search, officers discovered 294 grams of cocaine carefully hidden in her intimate area.
Muigai is currently being held at Moyale Police Station as DCI anti-narcotics officers finalize preparations to charge her in court.
Meanwhile, authorities have reaffirmed their dedication to cracking down on drug trafficking syndicates, with a special focus on networks using the Northern Frontier corridor to smuggle narcotics into Nairobi.
