President Ruto attends service at Church of Christ in Africa in Makadara Nairobi

Sunday’s service at the Church of Christ in Africa is expected to attract political leaders from Nairobi and neighboring regions.
President William Ruto is set to join worshippers this Sunday, June 8, at the Church of Christ in Africa (CCA) in Makadara, Nairobi.
The visit aligns with his continued practice of attending church services in different regions, a strategy that not only reinforces his connection with ordinary citizens but also offers a platform for national discourse.
It comes at a time when internal friction within the Kenya Kwanza coalition is intensifying, alongside mounting public dissatisfaction over the rising cost of living and increased taxation.
Despite the backlash, President Ruto has remained firm in defending his administration’s economic strategies, calling on citizens to exercise patience as reforms take root.
Opposition leaders and some of Ruto’s former allies argue that the current tax regime is placing an undue burden on already struggling households.
Last week, while speaking at a church service in Kiambu, the president reaffirmed his pledge to rejuvenate the economy and expand employment opportunities, insisting that “the transformation journey is on course.”
In his previous church engagements, Ruto has routinely tackled pressing national issues, countered opposition narratives, and rallied backing for key government initiatives.
