France crowned Six Nations Champions

Before kick-off, France knew a bonus point win over Scotland would be enough to secure the Six Nations title before their home crowd in Paris.
Also prior to kick off, England, Ireland and Scotland all still stood a chance at glory. With the French on 16 points, England on 15, Ireland 14 and the Scots on 12 meant it would be a showdown final day.
Ireland, who played first on Saturday beat Italy 22-17 to temporarily move to the top. England then thrashed Wales 68-14 to take the outright lead, which forced the French into a tough corner. No room for error, and they obliged with a 35-16 win to cap their title.
It was a tough match in the first half as the Scots made a nuisance of themselves. The score was a tight 16-13 at the break but the French improved in the second half to sweep home thanks to Thomas Russel the fullback who also became France's all-time top scorer last night with a spirited display where he scored 20 points.
It secured the French a first Six Nations title since 2022. Ireland had won the last two editions.
"We showed resilience in defence second half when we only conceded three points," said France defence coach Shaun Edwards to the BBC in the aftermath of the clash.
France now turn their focus to a three-match tour series away from home against New Zealand's All Blacks in July.
