Juja residents, lawyers demand action to locate missing MP Koimburi

Koimburi was reportedly confronted by individuals thought to be security officers shortly after distributing bursaries at Gachororo Primary School.
Lawyers representing Juja MP George Koimburi, together with local residents, are calling on the government to account for the whereabouts of the lawmaker, who disappeared on Friday.
Koimburi was reportedly confronted by individuals thought to be security officers shortly after distributing bursaries at Gachororo Primary School.
Following a high-speed chase involving his official car, the MP is said to have escaped on a motorbike.
Meanwhile, his driver was detained and taken to the DCI headquarters but was released later that evening.
The MP’s legal team condemned the incident, describing it as unlawful and politically motivated.
They accused the police of disregarding court orders, pointing out that Koimburi had secured an injunction against his arrest after forgery charges were filed at Kiambu Law Courts in February.
Meanwhile, residents who had gathered at Juja Farm for the bursary issuance expressed their frustration, alleging that the county government is using state machinery to intimidate and silence opposition leaders.
They called on authorities to ensure the safe return of their missing MP.
